Our Programs

Montessori philosophy incorporates the outdoors into many academic activities. The children can participate outdoors at VMS in many Geography, Botany, and Zoology lessons. The outdoor classes help the child to gain an actual life perspective on their experiences. The children also have a minimum of 2 hours a day outdoors for free play time. Considering the needs of each child in attendance at VMS, each classroom has a quiet area for those children that require rest during the day. The Montessori classrooms at VMS have five academic areas: Practical Life, Sensorial, Math, Language, and Culture, which include History, Geography, Zoology, and Botany. As the children have the daily chance to observe all five classroom areas, there is an excellent opportunity for movement and indoor exploration. The Montessori approach allows the staff at VMS to individualize daily plans to accommodate the needs of each child in attendance at the school.
